Unit Two: Student Objectives
The learner will distinguish, identify, and define fiction and non-fiction books.
- The learner will explore different genres of fiction:
- Realistic Fiction
- Fantasy
- Mystery
- Period/historical
- Science Fiction
- Horror
- The learner will pick a genre they enjoy and identify authors and books from that genre.
- The learner will identify selected book awards.
- The learner will use strategies in choosing a just-right book. Book choices may be made based on genre, reading level, interest level, book series, and/or author.
